The RABA CoreFoundry E1 Processor family of products includes E1 processors for multiplexing analog signals into a standard E1 output, or for demultiplexing all voice channels from a standard E1 input.
The rear panel E1 inputs and outputs
are Trompeter BJ770 twinax connectors.
A suitable cable mating connector
is a Trompeter PL75-9.
All analog
audio inputs and outputs are
on RJ-45 connectors, with four audio
pairs per RJ-45 connector. Any standard
CAT-5E cable can be used to interface
to the audio I/O ports. A 1U
breakout panel is available to convert
the CAT-5E to standard, unbalanced
BNC connectors. Contact RABA CoreFoundry
if different connector types
are desired (such as bantam), or if
balanced operation is desired.
Multiplexer units have an external 2.048
MHz clock input on the RJ-45 connector
block. This clock can be selected
by the operator to be used as the
E1 multiplexer clock. An internal
2.048 MHz clock is also available
for this purpose.
On all products, a front panel User
Interface is used to setup and
monitor operation. The User Interface
is comprised of an LCD display with
two ‘menu
select’ buttons to the left
of the display, and four ‘arrow’ buttons
to the right of the display.
The menu select buttons are used
to scroll through the various
setup and monitoring menus, while
the arrow buttons to the right
of the display allow navigation
within a displayed menu.
A front panel speaker can be
used to monitor a selected
timeslot from an E1 input
or output. A headphone jack
is also provided, and plugging
in a headphone cord will disable
the audio to the speaker.
An associated volume control
sets the volume for the
speaker or headphone.
